This high-fat, high- energy horse feed is formulated for all horse classifications including show and performance horses, breeding stallions, and broodmares. The unique, fully- extruded nugget is highly palatable, easy to chew, and allows for high nutrient absorption. Fortified with vitamins and minerals, it meets or exceeds NRC nutrient recommendations when feeding with a good- quality forage. Safe for all life stages. Milestone Life Plus is a low NSC feed, making it a safe choice for horses sensitive to starches and sugar.

Feeding Instructions

All Life Stages:

All horses should be fed according to their physiological function and level of activity.  Intake of high energy feed should be carefully monitored and adjusted according to activity and desired body condition.

ALWAYS FEED BY WEIGHT-NOT BY VOLUME!

Introduce MILESTONE LIFE PLUS gradually over a 2 to 3 week period by mixing with the old ration and gradually reducing the amount of the old ration. Always feed with good quality roughage at 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. per 100 lbs. of body weight. Fresh, clean water should be available at all times except to HOT, TIRED horses.

The Extrusion Process: Our locally-sourced ingredients, including finely-ground whole grains, are cooked with carefully-regulated and pressurized steam. The high heat and moisture opens up and gelatinizes the molecular chain of the starches, ensuring the food can rapidly take on the animal’s saliva and benefit the animal from the start of the digestion process. Oils from raw ingredients are released, making the fat more available for absorption. After the food leaves the extruder barrel, it is cut uniformly and then expands as it hits the cool air and normalizes pressure. The food is gently dried, removing excess moisture, which prevents mold and rancidity. This allows us to achieve a shelf life greater than 9 months. As a final step, we coat the food with healthy oils.
